One collaboration we are especially proud of us is our collaboration with Now Magazine’s video journalist Graeme Phillips. We have done many many projects with him over the past couple years but his recent work with Now Tube is a one man show. A lot of work goes into a video production. From preparation, to shooting, monitoring audio, making notes, editing, titles etc etc – this is a process that normally involves at least a few people. However, Graemes recent coverage of TIFF and other events he has done entirely on his own. On the side of teaching video full time he has been running around at the film festival rubbing shoulders with the best and brightest in film and pumping out awesome stories on video. We helped with the titles, but other than that he has covered all grounds in his limited free time and pulled out a whole assortment of cool pieces. The following 2 videos are my personal favorites. The first is a “man on the street” style video asking both movie-lovers as well as big time directors if TIFF is still “the peoples festival” the other video is a really cool moment Graeme captured a little while back at the Hillside Music Festival in Guelph.
Enjoy!

Other than website video production and our business stuff – Justin and I are also involved in some documentary film making. This video is something Justin cut together to promote a film we worked on with our good friend – Director Billie Mintz. We have been as close as family since we shot The Ponzi Scheme with Billie in January of 2008.
This was one of the greatest experiences of our lives. Working with an experienced director for the first time taught us many invaluable skills that are ingrained permanently in us now. Billie taught us film making skills that we find are often lacking in the corporate video world. Everyday we would be up before the sun went up to film the sunrise and we would film all the way into the dead of night. We would always eat quickly and while on the move so we wouldn’t miss anything and we learned a lot about the art of the interview by watching Billie and interviewing him ourselves.
The Ponzi Scheme is a story of a great journey Billie took in order to seek justice. Behind the scenes was the birth of our own great story. Our business was conceived here, our skills were born here and a life long friendship was created.
The Ponzi Scheme is in post-production. Enjoy this peek at it for now.
I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a few butterflies in my stomach when I walked by the red carpets this afternoon. TIFF is in full swing here in Toronto and The Biz Media is broadcasting LIVE from Yonge/Dundas Square throughout the week. We’ll be bringing you simulcast coverage of the movies, music and if there are any celebs I promise we’ll stick a camera in their face and make small talk. Come check out our first ever live video stream starting tonight at www.justin.tv/thebizmedia

*** We will be static on a tripod for most of the night – but stay tuned and we’ll try to add some spice!!! ***
