"Apple of My Eye" - an iPhone 4 movie / film - UPDATE: Behind the scenes footage included from Michael Koerbel on Vimeo.
The iPhone 4 has three capabilities which make it the first pocket sized video production device that will suceed. A very high resolution display so myultiple clips can be onscreen clearly, 512mb of ram to actual run the software and iMovie which is simple, fluid and already familiar to many. The addition of multitasking is an absolute nessisity as well, could you imagine getting a call while rendering?
When it comes to ground zero video, or video uploaded during or right after an event I believe that the iPhone will be where it’s coming from. Witness something, edit and upload it without hesitation, no PC required.
There is a problem though, Apple does not allow users to upload HD video directly to YouTube by default. PixelPipe will allow you to upload your vids both in batches and without bandwidth restrictions, it’s the way to go for video enthusiasts.
The addition of panning and narration ads a dramatic new, yet darker tone to a children’s classic.
All that was required to make this video was a decent microphone, scanner and a great script. The panning effect can be generated from most video editing software including the Express version of Final Cut.
Though the first use of the phrase Information Superhighway is often attributed to Al Gore, who mentioned it during a 1979 speech, Nam June Paik (1932 – 2006) is the first official person to use it. Paik recalls his use of the phrase: “I thought: if you create a highway, then people are going to invent cars. That’s dialectics. If you create electronic highways, something has to happen.”
Paik is best known as the father of video art, that is, video as both an artistic subject and a medium. A common motif of his was screen-multiplicity, connoting that our contemporary reality is composed out of multiple media sourced facets.
